Position Description:
As assigned by the Director, the Industrial Engineer services local unions by conducting time studies and job evaluations to assist in settling grievances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment in all industries represented by the UFCW.
- Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Confers with local unions, management, and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
- Conducts classes on time study and job evaluations.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of industrial engineering experience; or five to seven years of industrial engineering experience.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent basic and advanced mathematical skills. Must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be results-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize projects and activities.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of people.
- Requires initiative, honesty, the ability to learn quickly, a good work ethic, and the proven ability to successfully carry out assignments with little to no supervision.
Job Demands
- Ability to work under high pressure in a fast-paced work environment, with multiple priorities and critical deadlines, is required.
- Must be able to engage in extensive, continuous travel throughout the U.S. and Canada, on short notice. Must possess a valid passport for travel to Canada and meet Canada entry requirements.
- Long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends, are also necessary.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a car.
- Some work sites will be in meat processing plants.
Working Conditions
The work is performed largely in an industrial environment with exposure to noise and other typical conditions in industrial settings.
Physical Demands
The position involves, but is not limited to, written and oral communication skills, use of computer keyboard, close vision, sitting and/or standing for long periods, stooping, bending, and reaching.
This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $66,931 - $84,445.
