Grant Specialist

Position Title: Grant Specialist
Department: Strategic Research & Data Team (STRAD)
Reports To: Grant Coordinator
Position Summary
The Grant Specialist supports the execution of the centralized grants program by managing proposal development, coordinating internal inputs, and ensuring timely and accurate submissions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining organization, consistency, and quality across all grant applications.
Working within the Strategic Research and Data Team, this position will help translate organizational priorities into strong, competitive proposals while supporting overall grant tracking and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and track grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Draft, edit, and format grant proposals and supporting materials
- Coordinate with departments and affiliates to collect required data, narratives, and budgets
- Maintain a centralized grant calendar and track all deadlines
- Ensure all submissions meet funder requirements and internal standards
- Maintain organized records of applications, awards, and reporting requirements
- Assist in preparing grant reports and compliance documentation
- Support development of templates, boilerplate language, and proposal resources
- Track and report on submission activity and outcomes
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or related field
- Strong writing, research, and editing skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate across teams
- Experience in nonprofit, labor, or workforce-related environments preferred
Additional Information
This is a full-time salaried position. The Strategic Researcher must be able to travel as needed and perform work involving extended computer use, meetings, trainings, and campaign support.
Pay: 90,000 per year
