Membership Data Specialist

AFSCME Council 31 is one of Illinois' largest and most active labor unions with members working in a wide range of occupations--including health care, criminal justice, clerical, maintenance, public works, human services, and educational support. AFSCME Council 31 currently has an opening for a Membership Data Specialist in the Springfield office.

The Membership Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring that membership records are accurately maintained by both the union and the relevant employer, as well as ensuring that employers are deducting the appropriate dues on a regular basis and transmitting such deductions to the union in a timely manner.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in data management and systems development.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
• Computer skills, including MS software applications.
• Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment.
• Ability to respond courteously and professionally to phone calls and electronic inquiries and assess urgency.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Well organized and accurate.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.

Salary and Benefits:

• The starting salary for this position is $60,000.
