Title: Associate Director, Division of Nursing, Health & Safety and Labor Education
General Description:
The Associate Director is responsible for carrying out all the activities of the Association related to goals of the Association. The Associate Director is also responsible for responding to activities related to career advisement, nursing practice and workplace practice issues, nursing continuing education, nursing research and ethics, and health policy consultation related to nursing. The salary range for this position is $88,229 – $158,597.

Accountable to the Director, Division of Nursing, Health & Safety and Labor Education
Responsibilities:
- The Associate Director provides staff expertise to MNA structural units and MNA local bargaining units through the following:
- Facilitating the activities of congresses, committees, task forces and associated programs and projects.
- Planning, implementing and evaluating the continuing education program as nurse planners for MNA’s ANCC COA provider unit.
- Reviewing continuing education programs within the provider unit.
- Participating in the implementation of MNA goals.
- Coordinating the publication of written materials i.e. position papers, guides.
- Writing articles for publication as requested.
- Acting as a resource by providing information regarding nursing issues to other staff, members, and the public.
- Acting as a MNA representative to nursing and other health related groups.
- Maintaining positive interdivisional and intradivisional communication.
- Researching information and updating knowledge regarding nursing practice issues.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in coordinating interdepartmental and intradivisional activities.
- Taking leadership or working collaboratively with the membership in developing policies, position statements and publications for the organization.
- Other duties as requested.
- Participate in MNA staff meetings, serves on staff committees as requested and submits activity reports in a timely manner.
- Participates and assists the board of directors as assigned by the Director.
- Assists and participates in MNA Conventions.
- Acts as a resource on all related MNA programs and activities.
- Keeps informed of economic trends, BORN and other nursing organization decisions, general trends in nursing practice, especially those affecting the health care industry.
Qualifications:
- RN currently licensed in Massachusetts
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Documented experience in continuing education/teaching
- Current nursing practice knowledge
- Nursing practice experience minimum 5 years
- Understanding of the importance of Health Care Policy, Legislation and Regulations as related to nursing practice required
- Grant experience preferred
- Experience in membership organization preferred
