Administrative Assistant / Titan Operator

Summary:
Teamsters Local 350 is seeking a reliable Administrative Assistant to support daily union operations. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service to Local 350 members, manage and update membership accounts with accuracy, and maintain a high level of attention to detail in all administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism. The Administrative Assistant will serve as a key point of contact for Local Union members and staff, ensuring timely and efficient support within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Arranges, sorts, and files routine material; (correspondence, cards, invoices, or other records). Locates and removes material from file on request and maintains records. Types form letters, simple reports, addresses envelopes and performs other light typing. Uses standard office machines.
  • Receives, stores and issues equipment, material and merchandise and supplies in stockroom or storage rooms. Keeps inventory. Circulates mail, operates postage meter machine, envelope sealer and similar office devices.
  • Answers phone and/or acts as receptionist. May direct public to appropriate personnel. Handles all calls and keeps records of the transactions when necessary. May handle inter-office communications such as paging. Familiarity with personnel is essential.
  • Does hand posting to card or ledger sheets as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and other office software such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Drive.
  • Well versed in data entry and detail oriented.
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Willing to undergo training and evaluation for purposes of job performance. Motivated to work in a membership organization where members are the “customers” and members have responsibility for the ultimate governance of the organization.

Salary/Benefits:
This position is covered by OPEIU 29 bargaining agreement, 35-hour work week – Monday through Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with daily closure between 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (in office), full medical health and welfare, RSP medical health and welfare, pension, dental insurance, 401k Employer Discretionary, paid vacation and sick days and Teamsters Life with Dues Death Benefit. Starting hourly wage is $35.23.
