SEIU United Service Workers West (SEIU-USWW) represents over 50,000 property service workers across California. POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES: This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience organizing workers to fight for better treatment and standards on the job. This is a temporary, part time position that is intended to give interns the opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of how to organize a union at a workplace.

Examples of Duties: 

  • Conduct one-on-one organizing conversations
  • Chart and map a workplace
  • Effectively communicate with workers
  • Learn how to use labor law to protect workers
  • File wage and hour, Unfair Labor Practice, Health and Safety, and other complaints
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Work to support other key local union priorities, as

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

  • Proven commitment to social and economic justice and improving the lives of working people.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish (written & verbal) is preferred but not required.
  • All employees are required to be fully vaccinated and report their vaccination status as a condition of employment.
  • All employees must abide by USWW Safety Guidelines, including the required use of face-covering while working.
