Who we are
Based in Minnesota’s dynamic and progressive Twin Cities metropolitan area, the Guild represents more than 500 workers across several industries. We are the second-oldest local within The NewsGuild, with a history of advocating for our members that stretches back more than 90 years.
Our 28 units include medical language interpreters at Hennepin Healthcare, staffers at nonprofit organizations and other unions, as well as several print shops, but the majority of our members work for news organizations. The largest of these is the Minnesota Star Tribune. As a union representing journalists, we do not endorse political candidates.

You’ll also file all required reporting forms with our international union and be responsible for updating the CWA membership database.
You’ll act as the primary point person for communication between our local and the payroll and HR departments of our 28 Guild employers.
You’ll also handle human resources functions for our three-person local staff, such as managing our employee and member insurance/retirement programs, including premium billing. You’ll work with an IT contractor to manage the email and computer network systems.

- A background in bookkeeping and a familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (Sage) and database management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
