Data Strategy Coordinator
Based in San Dimas (Headquarters) or San Diego, CA
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Director of the Member Action and Resource Center (MARC) and is in the MARC Department. The Data Strategy Coordinator enhances the data infrastructure, analytical capabilities, and operational efficiency of the Member Action and Resource Center (MARC). Working closely with the Data Manager, this role ensures data integrity, optimizes data workflows, and leverages tools like SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, and Microsoft Fabric to support the union’s goals. The Data Strategy Coordinator collaborates across teams to implement data-driven solutions and foster a culture of data excellence. As part of the United Nurses Staff Union (UNSU), this is a collective bargaining unit position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (include but are not limited):

- Assist in developing and maintaining data structures to support membership, campaign, and operational needs.
- Optimize SharePoint and Microsoft 365 for document management, data sharing, and workflow automation.
- Support the integration and organization of data from multiple sources into a unified system, including UnionWare and cloud-based environments.
- Collaborate with the Data Manager to implement data governance practices and establish standardized coding systems for data consistency.
- Analyze surveys to uncover trends and insights in membership, engagement, legislative, and campaign data.
- Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
- Support efforts to leverage data sources provided by the International Union to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Assist in the evaluation and integration of tools to meet growing data requirements.
- Contribute to the migration of ad hoc data collection processes to cloud-based solutions for accessibility and consistency.
- Maximize the use of UnionWare for membership and data-related functions while recommending enhancements where necessary.
- Work closely with the Data Manager and other departments to implement data-driven projects and processes.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on data systems and tools to improve ease of use and accessibility.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align data strategies with union objectives.
- Audit data regularly to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university with a degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in data coordination, analysis, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and membership databases such as UnionWare and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Dynamics).
- Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft 365 for document management, data sharing, and workflow automation.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), database management, and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical insights into actionable recommendations.
- Extensive travel may be required, Current California Driver’s License.
- Salaried position; may require nonstandard work hours and/or weekend and holiday work.
PREFERRED
- Coding (e.g., SQL, Python) skills are a plus.
- Understanding HTML and CSS is a bonus.
- Familiarity with survey tools is a bonus.
- A commitment to social justice and workers' rights is strongly preferred.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Hourly $ 79.303 - $98.609. We provide a comprehensive package including medical and dental benefits for employee and dependents, optical allowance for employee and dependents, life Insurance for employee, defined benefit pension plan, 401K and flexible spending accounts, auto allowance, education program which includes tuition/course reimbursement and paid time off to take approved courses, vacation, sick leave, holidays, flexible personal time off, plus time off between Christmas day and New Year’s day. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with United Nurses Staff Union (UNSU). Salaries and benefits are subject to change based on future Collective Bargaining Agreements
