Data Systems Manager

Based in New York City, NY and Remote

 

SEIU Local DC10 MD, the Doctors Council is an active, growing, progressive healthcare union based in New York City. The Local currently represents over 3,000, Physicians, and Medical Professionals in New York City, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Minnesota.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Data Systems Manager under direct supervision and in teamwork with the Unity Council will collect and analyze the data around our Union’s organizing targets of over 10,000 prospective members. This role will take responsibility for organizing and developing reports, tracking membership trends, and performing predictive analysis as needed. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a Data Systems Manager, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases.

LOCATION: New York City and Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Data analysis experience
• Experience and high level of SQL competency and proficiency
• Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with other analysts if necessary.
• Process confidential data and information according to guidelines.
• Works to develop systems that track campaign and local union member engagement goals.
• Creates and implements systems to track and report member and worker organizing activity.
• Develop reports, reconciliations, and analyses from single or multiple systems.
• Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
• Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
• Experience using the VAN (Voter Activation Network) or an equivalent CRM.
• Experience and high level of SQL competency and proficiency
• Experience performing quality checks in order to provide accurate reports.
• Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well and creatively under tight deadlines, in a team environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent experience working with database systems and complex data reporting with increasing levels of responsibility
• SQL Programming experience
• Predictive Analytics experience preferred
• Experience working with a labor union, progressive non-profit, community organization, advocacy group, political campaign, or elected official, preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to creating positive work/employer relationships while fighting to raise standards for all workers in the industry is also a plus, preferred
• Personal commitment to the mission and goals of SEIU Local 10MD Doctors Council

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
This is a Full-Time position with a competitive wages and benefit package. The salary range is $100,000-$120,000, depending on experience.
