About the position
The role of the Data and Dues Processor is to manage HCMI member data processing, dues analysis, and reporting, as well as communicate with employers regarding member dues. The person in this role will be accountable for generating a variety of reports and communications related to member dues for Union staff, members, and employers.

Reports to: Office and Operations Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain up-to-date reports involving member dues receivable from employers, membership changes over time, and other metrics.
  • Audit employer data for accuracy. Process and analyze exception regularly. Ensure exceptions are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Generate regular, detailed and summary-level member reports to Union stakeholders and auditors.
  • Coordinate with HCMI staff on reconciliations between the Union’s data system (UnionWare) and accounting system (QBO). Work with coworkers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Communicate with employers to collect up-to-date member rosters and documentation of dues withholding. Also communicate regarding dues, member cards, and dues collection.
  • Track, report, and analyze member data.
  • Oversee notification process of sending certified letters to individual employees and employers, as needed.
  • Create, extract, summarize, and compile data for required external reporting. Work with staff and teams to satisfy ad hoc reporting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Union.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven record of excellent data management and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including very strong Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Unionware or using a relational database. Ability to use databases to create/run reports and extract data is a plus.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects of varying timelines and resources.
  • Motivated self-starter who can take initiative, work independently and be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Experience in the labor movement, organizing, or political campaigns is a plus.
  • Commitment to social and economic justice is a plus.

Salary: 60,000 annually

The position is a full-time position that occasionally requires long and irregular hours, including some nights, weekends and holidays.
