Contract Administrator

Title: Contract Administrator, Electronic Media Services Division
Location: New York, New York
Salary Range: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 plus full employee benefit package: medical, dental, and vision plans and retirement program.
Purpose: The Contract Administrator within the Electronic Media Services Division (EMSD) works directly with and reports to the division Director to oversee and manage the administration and enforcement of specific collective bargaining agreements covering the work of recording musicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the department Director, interpret and enforce the AFM’s collective bargaining agreements.
- Liaise with employers and producers who seek to employ musicians under said agreements to gather information about their project.
- Execute signatory agreements with said producers.
- Coordinate with AFM Locals regarding contract interpretations, logistics, and enforcement.
- Advise and represent musicians working under said agreements.
- Handle inquiries, claims, grievances, and dispute resolutions.
- Perform other, related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, phone interaction with members, Locals, management, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with handling confidential information.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with the music and entertainment industry is helpful.
