ROLE DESCRIPTION
As an Associate General Counsel, you will be expected to handle a wide range of matters relating to new organizing, the advancement of workers’ rights, legislative advocacy, and the representation of Union members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent the Union in federal and state court, and before the National Labor Relations Board and other administrative agencies.
• Present cases to arbitrators and assist with contract negotiations.
• You will also provide supervision to junior attorneys with respect to litigation.
• Advise Union officers and staff on internal Union administration, traditional labor law, and some benefit fund matters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Applicants should have at least 8 years of relevant experience, excellent research and writing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to workers’ rights.
• Applicants must be willing and available to travel.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This is a full-time position based in New York City.
• This position requires travel to other locations and events, including worksites, rallies, member meetings, and some out-of-state gatherings.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position has a salary range of approximately $141,000 to $174,000, depending on years of experience, and comes with excellent benefits, including employer-paid health, dental and vison plans for full-time employees and their qualified dependents, a pension plan, and generous paid time off.
