Digital Strategy & Social Media Contractor

Position: Digital Strategy & Social Media Contractor
Classification: Part-Time, Not Benefits Eligible

We are looking for an expert Digital Strategy Contractor or firm to add capacity in our growing contract campaign.

Responsibilities include:

  • Social media content creation (15 posts per week minimum)
  • Graphic design to turn MFT59 organizing documents/scripts/member feedback into flyers and social media-friendly graphics
  • Planning and executing digital advertising for specific MFT59 political campaigns
  • Close collaboration with MFT59 staff and elected leaders, including weekly check-in (rotating Zoom and in-person if possible) and ad hoc consultation
  • Monitoring of comments on social media accounts
  • General digital strategy consulting
  • Operating knowledge of the fight for strong public schools, including the educator union movement and corporate education reform

As stated above, the Digital Strategy consultant will work collaboratively with MFT59 elected leaders and staff to ensure that our offline organizing is reflected in our online presence, and to amplify our message online.  This person will help manage our presence on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.

The ideal candidate has organizing or campaign experience and is familiar with our fight for thriving public schools in Minneapolis.

MFT59 will compensate up to $2,000 per month for this contract, with the exact number of hours to be negotiated.
