The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) is a labor union representing professional writers of television shows, movies, digital, TV and radio news programs and documentaries, and content for new media platforms. We keep the public informed and entertained!
We are accepting applications for committed individuals who want to be Strike Organizers.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Working to keep picket lines effective and mobile.
- Coordinating with existing wgae leaders on plans.
- Identifying and developing leaders to participate in strike organizing efforts.
- Communicating with members and allies about the strike
- Coordinating with members and Allies to gather information.
- Mobilizing and organizing members using texting and other digital tools
Job Requirements
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to work independently and with a team.
- The ability to make and follow through on a work plan.
- Sharp communications skills.
- Basic writing and computer skills.
- The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience in union or community organizing is desirable.
- A demonstrated commitment to social justice is required.

This is a temporary position. The salary range is based on $60,000-$70,000 per year rate.
