Job Description: Organizing Director
The Position:
The Democratic Party of Orange County is seeking an Organizing Director to lead our organizing efforts. The Organizing Director will be responsible for training, directing, and supervising volunteers and staff, coordinating with democratic clubs, assisting with fundraising, partnering with Party committees to develop strategies for outreach and engagement, coordinating field operations with PDI technology, and recruiting volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement organizing plans to support the Party’s goals and objectives.
- Train, direct, and supervise volunteers and staff to ensure the effective execution of organizing plans.
- Coordinate with democratic clubs to build relationships and engage with the community.
- Assist Democratic clubs and candidates with, and, where appropriate, train them in, the use of PDI for their own field operations.
- Assist with fundraising efforts to support the Party's activities and initiatives.
- Partner with Party’s committees to develop strategies for outreach and engagement, including voter registration, canvassing, and phone banking.
- Coordinate field operations with PDI technology to ensure accurate data management and reporting.
- Recruit volunteers to support the Party’s organizing efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of organizing efforts and adjust plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Represent the Party at community events and meetings as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in political organizing, including training and supervising volunteers and staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse communities.
- Knowledge of PDI technology and other organizing tools and software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
