Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Data Specialist to join our team. The data specialist will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large sets of data. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, data management, and data visualization, and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
The People’s Project is a mutual aid program whose mission is to establish an organizing platform for reciprocal aid and cooperation in Los Angeles that scales with the community needs. By empowering communities, block by block, we hope to provide needed resources to the people of Los Angeles County and match people to the services they need.
This is a full-time position funded through December 2023. The position includes, but is not limited to, the duties as follows:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze large sets of data using statistical methods.
- Develop and maintain databases and data systems associated with the organization’s Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Identify trends and patterns in data sets.
- Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve data-related issues. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain data quality control processes. Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata. Perform data cleaning and transformation.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of data management best practices and methodologies Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Compensation
$67,500-75,000, based on experience. This is a full time position funded until December 2023. Permanent employment beyond December 2023 is not guaranteed. Benefits contingent upon qualification of hours and include: 401(k) Plan, Health, Dental and Vision.
