Safety & Health Department

Based in Washington, DC


The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) is seeking an Office Assistant II for its Safety & Health Department.

The primary duty of the position is providing administrative and secretarial support to include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and oversight of all departmental correspondence
  • Independently responding to requests for information and materials
  • Maintaining all departmental files and supplies
  • Processing travel arrangements, obtaining travel authorizations, and reviewing expense reports as needed
  • Assembling contracts and meeting packets
  • Maintaining the Safety & Health library
  • Assisting Office Manager with coordinating departmental meetings
  • Monitors and maintains office equipment


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years’ administrative experience required
  • Ability to type 60 WPM required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred.
