Salary Range: $79,190 - $118,778

This position is responsible for performing various accounting functions within the payroll section of the Accounting Department. Maintains the accounting records for assigned section using advanced computer and software systems.


  • Reviews and processes all payroll changes including new hires, terminations and other employee changes.
  • Coordinates with ADP to file all payroll Federal and State withholding and compliance filings.
  • Analyzes records as needed for month-end journal entries or on an ad hoc basis and present results to management for review and approval.
  • Prepares accrual entries and maintains subsidiary ledgers and schedules to track these balances.
  • Use computer software to prepare account analyses for various asset and liability accounts.
  • Contacts appropriate sources as necessary to resolve discrepancies, items held in suspense, delinquencies, inadequate documentation, and other problems.
  • Coordinates the completion of account analyses for specific general ledger accounts for assigned sections, requiring a thorough knowledge of the specific purpose of each general ledger account.
  • Prepares various electronic schedules for the external auditors. Clarifies information and answers questions raised during the audit.
  • Prepares electronic schedules for supporting documentation to all filings and maintains such records in an orderly manner for easy reference.
  • Manages inquiries from various stakeholders and escalate to management as necessary. Keeps management informed of all unresolved issues.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in accounting and additional course work in information system management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities will also be considered.

Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Proficiency in all areas of an accounting department and in the maintenance of a complete set of financial records on an automated accounting system.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, plan and complete multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations and ability to research same.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in the use of a variety of software tools for financial analysis.

Extended Hours and Travel:

  • Occasional travel and extended work hours may be required.
