Multimedia Specialist
Communications Department

(hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote)


Multimedia Specialist is a one-year, full-time, exempt position with full benefits. The grade level is 11.

Under the direction of the Communications Director, the Multimedia Specialist is responsible for the design, management, and production of the department’s graphic assets, collateral, photography, and video, including oversight of relevant vendors and freelancers. Late night and weekend work will be required.

The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with strong project management skills and follow-through.


  • Captures original photography and video footage of WGAW leaders, events and actions;
  • Edits original and found photography and video as needed;
  • Manages design and production requests efficiently, and keeps creative organized and accessible on shared drives;
  • Proactively learns about campaign priorities, messages, and themes, and develops innovative visual concepts that support campaign goals;
  • Manages the work of relevant freelancers and vendors, ensuring deliverables are on budget, consistent with the Guild’s brand guidelines, and delivered on time;
  • Stays up-to-date on new multimedia, production, print, digital and creative technologies and trends, and incorporates them when appropriate;
  • Manage WGAW YouTube and Vimeo accounts;
  • Creates graphic assets for various formats and oversees production of physical materials (t-shirts, postcards, booklets, signage, etc.) as needed;
  • Other duties as required.


  • Understanding of field production processes and equipment for photo and video shoots, including audio and lighting setup.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creative editorial techniques for video cuts and transitions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing graphics for web, social media, and print.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign;
  • Highly organized and methodical;
  • Collaborative, responsive, and receptive to feedback.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, starting at $70,000.

Must have the ability to: comprehend and follow instructions; understand and communicate correct information; perform activities on schedule, maintain regular attendance and punctuality and interact with others courteously and professionally. Must have the ability to multi-task and remain calm and focused under pressure. Must be able to drive a car and travel off-site to meetings and events.

Does not require working near hazardous equipment or machines. Very low or no exposure to noise, dust, gas, odors, fumes. (If traveling off-site, may require some exposure to the above).
