Labor Relations Representative

The Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) is the largest, most effective union for RNs across the state. As the voice for all registered nurses in Michigan, MNA advocates for nurses and their patients at the Capitol, in the community, and at the bargaining table.

The MNA Labor Relations Representative is responsible for nurses and health professionals represented by the Michigan Nurses Association in the private and/or public sectors. Duties include preparing for and conducting collective bargaining, grievance processes and arbitrations; working with and developing member leaders to represent nurses in employment-related matters; and building an effective organization with power to fight and win workplace improvements.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in all representation matters including but not limited to, contract negotiations, grievances, running effective contract campaigns, organizing membership participation, internal communications, and external relationship-building.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years' experience working as a Labor Relations Representative; or a Juris Doctor degree, Michigan State Board admission and 2 years’ experience.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full time, statewide, exempt position and may lead to significant travel within the state. The salary is based on applicable years of experience applied to the wage scale outlined in the union staff’s collective bargaining agreement.

Salary range of $83,000 – $108,000 based upon experience.
