Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator

The International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600 IATSE is the largest camera and publicist union in the world with over 9,000 members in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. We are a National Local of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE). Applications are being accepted for the exempt, salary position of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator. This position will be based out of our National Office in Los Angeles, California.

$60,000 to $95,000 annually, based on experience.

Under the direction of the National Executive Director or their designee, the primary responsibilities are managing, developing and coordinating large and small-scale diversity and inclusion efforts including training, mentoring and internship programs locally, regionally, and nationally for current, and future members. Our goal is to create pathways to middle class, benefitted careers in our industry and to support individuals as they develop and establish themselves in our craft.


  • Expand our outreach by identifying and adding more outside organizations to partner with in our ongoing efforts to help underrepresented groups find pathways to careers in our industry.
  • Build relationships and secure agreements with such organizations in Atlanta, Chicago, and New Orleans while identifying additional options in Los Angeles and New York, where we currently have successful partnerships.
  • Engage with Studios and Employers that are committed to working with us in this effort to create a pipeline that results in access and opportunity for underrepresented communities
  • Reach out to our camera crews that will be working with interns to ensure successful integration and experience for both the crew and the interns.
  • Coordinate our Inclusion efforts with our internal Mentorship and our internal Training programs to create a wraparound program that increases the likelihood of success.
  • Develop, collect and analyze existing and newly identified data that will provide a reliable baseline to work from and create objective criteria to judge our own progress and adjust as- needed.
  • Serve as primary staff support for our Inclusion Committee and secondary support for our pilot Mentorship program.


  • College degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with community groups, outside programs, employer representatives and interns
  • 2 plus years of training experience, diversity & inclusive initiatives, and programs
  • 5 years of labor and union organizing experience
  • 2 plus years of developing trainings and evaluations
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 suite: Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to work autonomously to complete projects and tasks
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management experience


  • 4 years of developing and training experience, curriculum design in a union setting
  • Proven track record of establishing diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives at Unions and / or corporations

This position is classified exempt under the current OPEIU Local 174-IATSE Local 600 CBA. ICG staff are represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). Employment is subject to the terms and conditions as set forth in the OPEIU Local 174-IATSE Local 600 CBA. Night and weekend work will be required. Excellent starting salary, commensurate with experience, and an excellent benefits package.
