This is a Temporary position with benefits, primarily working out of our Head Office in Oakland, we however, have offices statewide and travel to other offices in this role is necessary at times.

Purpose:
We are seeking a high-energy, mature, well organized, Administrative Assistant for a position that will include: providing general administrative support to statewide campaigns and special projects, but is mainly data entry focused. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of having worked in a fast-paced office environment and capable of handling multiple and diverse assignments. Labor or campaign experience preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Primarily provides data entry services for the Membership and Cancellation portfolio
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to staff in satellite offices and statewide, when necessary.
  • Assists when necessary in the development and preparation of presentation material, campaign material, and campaign propaganda.
  • Coordinate and plan logistics for rallies and other actions/events, including onsite support
  • Assists with handling all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Willing to travel to satellite offices across the state of California when necessary.
  •  Other administrative support as assigned

Experience and Education Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years prior administrative and clerical experience preferably in a dynamic member-driven organization with strong data entry, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses a valid CA driver’s license.
  •  S/he or They has a positive and enthusiastic disposition. enjoys working in a team environment.
  •  High School diploma, GED or AA preferred.
  • Knowledge of office equipment: computer literacy, MS Office Suite/Access, Google documents, and Adobe, fax, scanner, copier experience.
  • Detailed oriented and accurate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual Spanish/Chinese and other languages are a plus. Women, people of color, and disabled persons are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements (as required by ADA)

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Work is performed in a variety of employment settings. Driving, travel, temporary assignments, irregular and extended work hours are required.
