Campaign Researcher and Community Liaison

Based in the San Diego/Imperial Valley, CA area

Job Description

UAW is seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the role of Campaign Researcher and Community Liaison to work with community partners in San Diego and Imperial Valley. Individual will research the growing lithium valley industry and work with partners to develop long term plans to grow union membership. Research will focus on the lithium valley, green economy, and auto transition to electric vehicles.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Research union strategies across the country and create a plan for local reality.
  • Implement electoral campaign plans for assigned campaigns.
  • Build, Plan, and Track community relationships with direct supervision.
  • Work with unions and non-profits in Imperial Valley.
  • Plan work as assigned; make and execute daily, weekly, and monthly work plans based on assigned goals and objectives.
  • Planning and carrying out actions and events to support worker organizing efforts.
  • Serve as liaison with local unions.
  • Any duties as assigned.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel between San Diego and Imperial Valley.

Skills & Experience

  • Must be fully bilingual in English/Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must possess a strong dedication to progressive values.
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

About $58,000 plus full healthcare benefits
