This is a Temporary position with benefits, primarily working primarily out of our UCLA Office in Culver City, CA; but will also report to the UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside offices when needed.

We are seeking a high-energy, mature, well organized, Administrative Assistant for a position that will include: providing general administrative support to statewide campaigns and special projects. Data entry and answering the phones. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of having worked in a fast-paced office environment and capable of handling multiple and diverse assignments. Labor or campaign experience preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

  • The Part-Time Administrative Assistant I acts as the first point of contact: greet visitors, answer the phone, and respond to e‐mail inquiries.
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to staff in satellite offices and statewide, when necessary.
  • Assists when necessary in the development and preparation of presentation material, campaign material, and campaign propaganda.
  • Coordinate and plan logistics for rallies and other actions/events, including onsite support
  • Handles all incoming and outgoing mail for the Satellite office.
  • Assists with data entry projects
  • Willing to travel to satellite offices across the state of California when necessary.
  • Satellite office organization & maintenance (including stocking supplies)
  • Other administrative support as assigned
  • The Part-Time Administrative Assistant I reports to the Administrative Manager

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years prior administrative and clerical experience preferably in a dynamic member-driven organization with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses a valid CA driver’s license.
  • S/he or They has a positive and enthusiastic disposition. enjoys working in a team environment.
  • High School diploma, GED or AA preferred.
  • Knowledge of office equipment: computer literacy, MS Office Suite/Access, Google documents, and Adobe, fax, scanner, copier experience.
  • High level of detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual Spanish/Chinese and other languages are a plus. Women, people of color, and disabled persons are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements (as required by ADA)

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Work is performed in a variety of employment settings.  Driving, travel, temporary assignments, irregular and extended work hours are required.
