IT Specialist

Based in Lansing, MI & Field Offices
(Battle Creek, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Highland Park, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Saginaw)


Provide technical troubleshooting, operating system changes and upgrades, and end user technical training. Research and advise on hardware and software purchases.


  • Provide first-level IT support to end users
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems for individuals and groups in an efficient manner, recognizing the proper course of action to take, communicating and escalating severe issues as appropriate
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Research support requests using available information resources
  • Respond to customer service requests and assigned tickets according to specified priority levels
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Coordinate and install software and hardware for customers. Installation may be performed at the user station or via the network. Equipment also includes printers, tablets, telecom equipment, and similar devices
  • Configure advance system settings and application software at multiple workstations
  • Maintain an up-to-date technical and practical knowledge and understanding of hardware and software support and analysis
  • Respond to assigned help desk tickets, for technical support ensuring timely feedback and closure
  • Maintain confidentiality of information processed
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Maintain inventory of computers, laptops, tablets, printers


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have 2+ years of experience supporting a Windows Domain environment
  • Possess working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and computers
  • Must be able to travel to field offices
  • Ability to deal with multiple levels of people effectively, in group and individual settings
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Employees are expected to work onsite to attend in person meetings and collaborate as necessary
  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and the ability to self-manage and prioritize a dynamic workload.

SALARY RANGE: $47,000 to $52,000

LOCATION: Lansing & Field Offices (Battle Creek, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Highland Park, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Saginaw)
