The National Air Traffic Controllers Association, AFL-CIO ("NATCA"), the labor union representing federal-sector and private-sector air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals, is currently seeking to fill the position of Website Administrator at the Union’s headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Website Administrator monitors and maintains websites, web hosting, domains, online forms, and plugins, identifying problems and recommending fixes and improvements. The Website Administrator also is responsible for day-to-day content updates, search engine optimization, monitoring and reporting on Google analytics trends, and enforcing the style guide across NATCA websites. The Website Administrator also manages the relationship with outside web technology partners. The Website Administrator should be able to perform some graphic design work for the website and may capture and edit photos and/or videos to produce content for the website.

Skills Desired: Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Digital Media, Interactive Design, or a related degree and 3 years of relevant experience in a professional web and/or digital communication setting. The ideal candidate will have: a thorough understanding of UX best practices, web security requirements, and search engine optimization; working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, MySQL, and JavaScript; proficiency with W3C Web standards, WAI, ADA & Sections 508 and 504 compliance; a core understanding of how to track, measure and report web metrics; and some experience with photography and videography. The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work several projects at once under pressure. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft programs and have proficiency with database systems. The candidate should also possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable speaking with members and assessing and meeting their needs.
