Political Coordinator – Pennsylvania and Delaware

The Political Coordinator reports to the Political Director for Pennsylvania and Delaware, is responsible for aspects of the Union’s legislative and political work. The position is based in our Philadelphia office, and includes travel throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and coordinating aspects of legislative and policy reform initiatives that effect the Union, worker’s rights and social justice; 
  • Working with the Political Director and Research & Policy staff to develop and implement statewide public policy and political agenda throughout the region;
  • Planning and implementing an electoral program for local, state and federal elections;
  • Overseeing and carrying out regional activity for federal legislative campaigns;
  • Planning and coordinating political field activities, lobby visits, phone banking and events for our public policy campaigns at the county, state and federal level;
  • Mobilizing, training and educating new member leaders and activists for legislative and electoral activity;
  • Supporting contract and organizing campaigns, including rallies, press events and targeted owner activity;
  • Coordinating the Union’s work with local labor and community allies.


  • 3 to 5 years of experience coordinating legislative, electoral, or community organizing campaigns;
  • Ability to design and implement powerful and effective campaign plans;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislative processes;
  • Experience working on electoral campaigns and managing field programs;
  • Experience engaging directly impacted people and moving them to take action;
  • Excellent communications skills and experience building strong working relationships with stakeholders; 
  • Fluent written and oral Spanish preferred but not required;
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel as needed.
