Contract Campaign Organizer

Based in Minneapolis, MN


Location: MFT Office
Hours/status: Full-time-Exempt
Position is open until filled.

Purpose of position:
The Contract Campaign Organizer will work with staff/leaders on internal organizing, assist in the implementation of the joint bargaining campaign for the 2021-23 Teacher Chapter contract, and work on other initiatives as needed.

Major functions and responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing our joint bargaining campaign by supporting work site structure tests, site-level actions and strike preparation if necessary.
  • Support leadership development efforts for Contract Action Team members.
  • Assist in preparation for bargaining.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience in implementing union organizing plans.
  • Familiarity with the bargaining process.
  • Experience in leadership development activities for a wide range of members.
  • Experience in working with confidential and sensitive information and issues.
  • Ability to work with technology and information systems.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years union organizing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in executing ambitious contract campaigns.
  • Experience participating in/working on union strikes.
