Communications Director

Based in Connecticut


Recovery For All is a statewide coalition of 50 labor, community, and faith organizations united in a long-term mission to reduce and eliminate extreme racial, economic, and gender inequities in Connecticut. We are currently leading the fight to win long-term investments in our communities through progressive tax reform.

The Communications Director will lead the coalition’s internal and external communications as a key part of our broader strategy to unite progressive organizations, build power for working people of every race and gender, and combat systemic inequities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with the press to ensure maximum coverage of all coalition activities.
  • Sharpen coalition messaging to articulate a bold and compelling vision that centers the experience of working people, particularly workers of color and women workers.
  • Develop, write, edit, and distribute internal and external communications materials, such as op-eds, letters to the editor, online advocacy campaigns, newsletters, flyers, etc.
  • Oversee digital media campaigns by working with a paid consulting firm.
  • Manage our email and social media accounts.


  • Previous experience in communications or related fields.
  • Demonstrated commitment to progressive social change, including greater working-class power, racial justice, and gender equity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Readiness to work long or irregular hours during campaigns.
  • Knowledge of foreign languages, particularly Spanish, is a plus.

This position is either full-time or part-time, depending on the circumstance. Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience; benefits are excellent.

Residence in Connecticut is preferred, but we are open to hiring a candidate who works remotely somewhere in the Northeast and travels here for key events.
