SEIU 775 is the long-term care workers union, representing more than 45,000 home care and nursing home workers across Washington State and Montana. This role plays a pivotal role in assuring quality control and bring forth technology infrastructure.

Position Summary
SEIU 775 is seeking an experienced Network Administrator who wants to join a mission driven organization to help improve the lives of workers. In this role you will maintain our current systems and assets, recommend, and implement solutions, and provide training as needed. This position requires knowledge of network maintenance and industry knowledge to advance the organization. In addition to very strong technical skills, this position requires exceptional business process, and interpersonal skills.

Essential Job Functions

  • Management of Servers and Workstations.
  • Management of Network access and bandwidth utilization.
  • Management of Call Center Software and Services.
  • Technical documentation (Processes, Policies, and Procedures).
  • Systems performance monitoring and diagnostics, configuration, and administration.
  • Installation of new software releases, perform system wide upgrades, evaluate, and install patches and resolution of software related conflicts.
  • Inventory and Change Management (Hardware, Software, OS, Updates, Documentation).
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of modern IT environments.
  • Proficient with creation of technical documentation.
  • Clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excels in verbal and written communication including the ability to draw out needs from non-technical users and translate them into system tasks.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, experience participating and leading multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to learn quickly about projects or product being developed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in technology or computer science.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working with IT systems.
  • At least 3 years’ experience writing technical documentation.
  • At least 1 year experience with call center environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a labor union, progressive non-profit, community organization, advocacy group, political campaign, or elected official is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating positive work/employer relationships while fighting to raise standards for all workers in the industry is also a plus.
  • Personal commitment to the mission and goals of SEIU 775 is a requirement of this position (see www.seiu775.org).
  • Ability to work well and creatively under tight deadlines, in a team environment.
