Assistant Business Representative for Live Performance

Based in our National / Eastern Region office in New York City, NY


United Scenic Artists is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Business Representative for Live Performance.

The Assistant Business Representative for Live Performance reports to the Business Representatives for Live Performance and facilitates timely and accurate processing of designer contracts. This position requires heavy contact with theatrical producers, managers, and designers as well as detailed data entry. This position is based in our National/Eastern Region office in New York City.

Description of Duties:

  • Communicate contract procedures to employers, designers, and agents
  • Identify and resolve issues that may delay or prevent contract processing
  • Assist the Business Representatives in preparing for upcoming contract negotiations
  • Work with Benefits Coordinator and Financial Department to ensure that dues and benefit contributions are remitted accurately
  • Track current and upcoming productions under Union's jurisdiction
  • Create reports based on internal data, as needed
  • Research and information gathering, as needed

Skills Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy and mastery of Microsoft Office suite. Experience with databases preferred.
  • Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Working knowledge of theatrical industry and/or labor unions
  • Experience working with people from a diverse array of backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail

The successful applicant will have good language skills both verbal and written, professional discretion and care for confidential information, mastery of Microsoft Office suite, well-developed organizational and logistical skills, attention to detail, proven interpersonal intelligence, and the ability to work with a variety of personalities. Professional knowledge of the theatrical industry and/or labor unions strongly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $60,000 with an excellent benefit package.
