Salary Level: Starting $83,000 – $95,000

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:
The Digital Media Manager is a strategic, creative thinker and implementer, who is passionate about engaging and building the American Postal Workers Union’s (APWU) online audience. They utilize the union’s digital tools to drive mobilization and action for internal and public campaigns. The position involves creating content for and managing the union’s digital media suite, including websites, social media platforms, email lists, text messaging, video, and all other online content.

Performs duties under the supervision of the Communications Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • More than 6 years of digital media experience, preferably for another labor union or advocacy organization
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and projects, and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work with a team, but capable of working independently and being self-motivated
  • Experience managing digital advocacy campaigns, driving members and supporters to action
  • Experience with Action Network or other CRM and testing content to maximize engagement
  • Strong understanding of web analytics, demonstrated proficiency with content management systems, especially Drupal
  • Experience with Mobile Commons, Hustle or other text messaging tools
  • Organizational-level experience publishing and tracking on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Experience placing digital advertising on Facebook and Google a plus
  • Experience managing live streams a plus
  • Proficiency with HTML and CSS a plus
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with APWU personnel, members and general public

REQUIREMENTS:
Some travel will be required. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. Weekend and evening monitoring of social media required.
