PAC Database Analyst – Data & Analytics Department

Location: Headquarters - Washington, DC
USU: Grade 8
Starting Salary: $76,115

This position in the Data & Analytics Department is responsible for supporting technical activities as they relate to Every Action the database management system that tracks political contributions from affiliates and members. Responsibilities include collection, manipulation, and preparation of data for use by the Every Action system and other tools for cleansing data in preparation for ingestion. The incumbent will assist the PAC Systems Manager in creating and maintain data processes that ensure data accuracy in the Every Action system.

DUTIES:

  • Works with Access databases and Excel data to cleanse and match complex contribution data to contribution records.
  • Works with the analytics team to develop automation processes and techniques to ensure data integrity.
  • Trains users on Every Action, PEOPLE processes, and other related procedures.
  • Responsible for collection, manipulation, and preparation of data for use by Every Action system for less complex data, as assigned.
  • Assist the PAC Systems Manager in regular audits of data to ensure a high level of data accuracy in the Every Action system.
  • Work with staff to establish best practices and standards for data collection, acquisition and preservation.
  • Assists in providing Every Action support to the Accounting & Political Action Departments.
  • Extracts data from external data systems for ingestion into Every Action.
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects to non–technical individuals.
  • Data entry of Every Action batches.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Access skills are required, SQL a plus.
  • Effective analysis skills.
  • Experience with large data manipulation and cleansing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to the labor movement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively and work under deadline pressures.

Travel and Work Hours:

  • Extended work hours, travel and a valid driver’s license are required.
