Communications & Development Program Manager

Job Description
Co-op Cincy is seeking a full-time Communications and Development Program Manager to join its growing team. Co-op Cincy works to overcome inequality of opportunity, mobility, and income by building a network of unionized worker-owned cooperative businesses.

Join the Co-op Cincy team and help design and implement our communication/marketing and development plan. This is a full-time position.

Job Responsibilities:
Communications Responsibilities

  •  Help design and implement a branding/communications strategy
  •  Develop marketing/communication materials/strategy (displays, handouts, annual reports, etc.)
  • Update and manage website
  • Build social media presence
  • Connect social and digital efforts among Co-op Cincy and all co-ops in the network
  • Design monthly email communications
  • Assist in developing educational materials including videos

Development Responsibilities

  • Support Grant writing
  • Support development efforts
  • Help maintain Salesforce and Mailchimp lists
  • Represent Co-op Cincy publicly

General Expectations:

  • Support co-op development.
  • Participate in various Co-op Cincy activities.
  • Represent Co-op Cincy publicly.
  • Reprioritize work from time to time to support small staff.

Skills Requirements:

  • Strong listening, communication, and people/interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Stupendous Graphic design skills -utilizing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and similar programs.
  • Website design (we use Squarespace)
  • Social media management experience
  • Creative thinking - the ability to consider something in a new way and bring new perspectives to the workplace
  • Computer skills - Google Drive, office suites, etc.

Compensation: Starting salary $45,000 per year with 19 paid vacation days and 10 paid holidays.

Benefits: Healthcare and short-term disability is provided without a waiting period. Co-op Cincy pays $450/month towards an individual or family plan. Co-op Cincy completely covers Short term disability. These benefits are made possible through our affiliation with the United Steelworkers.

Union Membership with the United Steelworkers is a part of this job. It costs $10 deducted from your pay to join the union. And then a small amount is withheld from each paycheck. In addition to access to healthcare, there are other awesome benefits like access to free college courses for you and your family.
