Unit Description
The Seminole Education Association (SEA), Seminole Educational Clerical Association (SECA), Non-Instructional Personnel of Seminole County Board of Public Education Association (NIPSCO), and the Seminole County School Bus Drivers’ Association (SCSBDA) are the bargaining representatives of the 6,900 employees of Seminole County School District. Seminole UniServ is a local-option affiliate of FEA, NEA, AFT, and AFL-CIO, employing five staff members and one release-time president.

Position Summary
The identified candidate should have experience in secretarial work of answering phones, solving problems, providing detailed messages, working knowledge of Office 365 and other programs such as Publisher. UniServ will provide the identified candidate training in using our membership data system to keep current and accurate membership information on our members and potential members.

The candidate must have at least two years of comparable organizational experience.
A High School diploma is required with one or two years of college is preferred. The candidate must be proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel with a working knowledge of online and print photo management and publishing software. Experience maintaining website content and preparing internal print and online communications would be ideal. Must possess the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of public-school unions is preferred but not required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Secretarial services, including word processing, email, answering the telephone, and share in reception duties.
  • Provide secretarial support to professional staff.
  • Make travel arrangements for lobbying and conventions
  • Enter membership forms into the system, remove members that drop, provide lists and documents requested.
  • Financial functions with support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary negotiable based on credited experience. Employer-provided hospitalization, medical, dental, vision coverage;
