ABOUT THE COMPANY
Workers Equity Investment Bank was formed in 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 crisis to advise, reorganize, and strengthen troubled companies affected by the economic crisis. Our mission is to preserve union jobs and provide strategic and well-informed consultancy and research services to companies that are struggling to survive.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop Workers Equity’s relationship with unions, particularly the International Union of Electrical Workers (IUE) and others, as needed
  • Assist unions with efforts to “Get Out the Vote” nationwide, with short-term focus on PA & OH
  • Design and set up presentations for local unions explaining how Workers Equity can impact their organizations
  • Set up and facilitate 2 meetings per week with shop stewards utilizing Zoom and coordinating follow-up calls with potential targets at the 7-day and 30-day marks
  • Work in conjunction with Workers Equity staff and consultants to research client manufacturing facilities in New Jersey and elsewhere
  • Design Workers Equity website with special focus on the new relationship with the IUE
  • Launch social media campaigns for Workers Equity establishing a social media presence for its principals
  • Exploration of the Federal Reserve Bank’s Main Street Fund
  • Help write research grants to help support manufacturing work in New Jersey
  • Develop relationships with potential investors for Workers Equity and target companies
  • Develop a program for New Jersey job creation as a result of new business for NJ IUE organized companies and others, as necessary

  • Strong communication skills
  • Capability to successfully navigate social media
  • Basic knowledge of web design
  • Excellent writing and researching aptitude
  • Working knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • 2-5 years of experience in administrative or research capacity
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Knowledge of unions and their operations
