The Fair Shot Texas PAC is a Texas general purpose political action committee under the leadership of the Texas AFL-CIO and supporting labor allies working to advance a pro-working family agenda in the 2020 election cycle. The PAC will engage in direct voter contact with an emphasis on key Texas legislative races.

The Fair Shot Texas PAC is currently accepting applications for the role of Remote Organizer. Remote Organizers will engage in direct voter contact by phone banking, text banking, and other digital tools. ROs will report to Regional Organizing Directors. There are various positions available and ROs will be expected to work remotely. This is a cycle position that will conclude on November 6, 2020. There should be no assumption of employment extended beyond November.

Remote Organizers will be paid $20/hour plus benefits including health insurance, a tech stipend, paid time off for federal holidays, and flexible PTO. ROs are expected to work a minimum of 30 hours a week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting daily voter contact goals
  • Phone banking
  • Text banking
  • Social Media Messaging
  • Email
  • Video chats
  • Entering all data into the LAN and maintaining its integrity
  • Participate in 1-on-1 and group trainings
  • Completing a minimum of 30 hours a week
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Texas residency or Texas political experience preferred
  • 1 cycle of experience either as a volunteer or paid staff
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment, and meet tight timelines
  • Practice managing multiple competing priorities at the same time
  • Passion for working to elect labor endorsed candidates to the Texas House of Representatives
  • Individuals who have completed political training programs are highly encouraged to apply.
