Part-Time Human Resources Assistant
20 Hours/Week

Based in San Diego, CA

 

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the HR Assistant Director, the HR Admin assists with the administration of the day-to-day human resources operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes new hire and termination documents including background checks, employment forms, employee badges and welcome packets
  • Maintain employee personnel and medical electronic files by entering and updating employment data into HRIS and/or filing paperwork in appropriate folders and/or binders
  • Process all request for employee information including verification of employment, state and county requests
  • Maintain EEO files and process EEO-1 & EEO-2 reports, maintaining applicable records and reports to maintain compliance
  • Maintain employee insurance and registration documentation; process DMV pull notice forms, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Process excused absence documentation; reconciles report monthly
  • Compose monthly HRIS reports; analyze for compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Assist with processing leaves of absences and worker’s compensation documentation; file appropriately
  • Audit mandatory trainings compliance including harassment and defensive driving; enroll personnel in new or renewed trainings as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
  • Assist with HR projects including but not limited to HRIS, records maintenance, audits and annual compliance updates
  • Provide general HR & HRIS assistance to personnel as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Skills in database management and record keeping
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred

Temporary 6-month position with possible transition to regular part-time
