JOB SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper position is part of the administrative support staff of Joint Council 25. The Bookkeeper develops and maintains digital and paper records relating to regulatory requirements, accounts payable and accounts receivable and other financial transactions, payroll, and processing human resources and employee benefits information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounts Payable - seek approval of invoice, prepare checks for signature and process payments to vendors;
  • Accounts Receivable - record incoming payments, prepare bank deposits, reconcile receipts, post journal entries in general ledger;
  • Audit/Review - maintain accurate records, including payroll records, tax records, bank statements, bank receipts, and all other records as necessary;
  • Bank Receipts - record and maintain all monthly bank deposits;
  • Budget - prepare monthly and yearly budget reports;
  • Payroll - Maintain and prepare payroll records;
  • Retirement Contributions - maintain and coordinate all retirement and 401K contributions and records;
  • Insurance - maintain and coordinate all insurance payments and records;
  • Travel Itinerary - coordinate and book travel itineraries;
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree - degree in business, finance or accounting desirable;
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as a Bookkeeper or other financial position with responsibilities in accounts payable and/or receivables;
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills;
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently, exercise expert judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness;
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information and matters;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and QuickBooks
