Senior Labor Representative/Attorney

The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) is expanding and seeking applicants for the position of Senior Labor Representative/Attorney. Required experience includes litigation, arbitrations, administrative hearings, legal research, drafting pleadings, and experience in public sector labor law, collective bargaining, and contract enforcement. Position requires extended work hours.

Association Overview
Clark County Education Association is the largest independent educators union in the Country and the State of Nevada. CCEA represents over 18,000+ Pre K-12 licensed employees in 360 schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD) which is the fifth largest school district in the USA. CCEA provides collective bargaining, worksite representation, legal services, professional leadership, legislative/political involvement, a membership benefits program and professional and personal development for its membership.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Labor Representative works closely with and reports to the Director of Advocacy and Representation and the Executive Director and has the primary responsibility for implementing the Advocacy and Representation program of CCEA. The duties and responsibilities are:

  1. Experience in handling complex contract arbitrations, including drafting briefs.
  2. Experience in handling unfair labor practice charges, proceedings before administrative and/or regulatory hearings, and appellate work, including drafting and responding to pleadings.
  3. Experience in representation matters and contract enforcement regarding grievances, arbitrations, and effective practices in alternative dispute resolution skills.
  4. Experience in collective bargaining and settlement negotiations.
  5. The ability to manage large caseloads and supervision of staff to accomplish outcomes.
  6. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or his designee.

Essential Qualifications and Experiences
The successful candidate should have a minimum of:

  1. Non-licensed attorney - five years’ experience handing arbitrations, administrative hearings, and other representation matters, preferably in the public sector, or
  2. Licensed attorney - Two years of experience handling litigation in-house or in a law firm.
    Applicants must be committed to advancing the cause of public education and defending and advancing the interests of educators. Applicants should have strong research, writing, and communication skills as well as an understanding and use of data management and analytics. Experience in working in a right to work state preferred.


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Law degree preferred
  • Licensed attorney preferred
