CEA UniServ Representative

Based in Hartford, CT

A vacancy exists for the position of UniServ Representative with the Connecticut Education Association. Applicants for this position must have the ability to speak and write effectively, communicate and relate positively and dynamically with other persons and leaders, deal effectively with controversial issues, have the capacity for sustained effort under pressure, and be willing to work long hours, including weekends. Interested candidates must have the desire to support and advocate for the rights of public school teachers and the system of public education.

The work responsibilities of a UniServ position are varied and include the ability to understand organizational development and actively involve and organize members around a variety of issues. Additionally, candidates must have knowledge and experience in collective bargaining, grievance adjudication, political and legislative organizing, conducting leadership training programs, health benefits, public relations, knowledge of professional practices and developments in the field of education, and community organizing. Research and analysis skills and knowledge of public schools and government institutions are also required skills of the position. Minimum education requirements must include a Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.

Salary Range: $122,019 to $162,217
