Job Description:
Full-time position as a Digital Campaign Coordinator with a organizing project that is building long-term power in academia across the country and is integrated the region’s campaigns. This project is a joint venture between the American Federation of Teachers and the Non-Collective Bargaining Organizing Project.

The Digital Coordinator will be part of a team of field organizers that is working together to build power with professionals in academia. The position will be responsible for building and supporting a network of activists that are responsive and engaged with the campaigns, and has a particular focus on moving supporters from online to offline engagement.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate, versatile, and enthusiastic while having experience using online tools to tell the story of a campaign, identify new supporters, and organize people online to take action both online and offline.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the campaigns social media and digital tools in order to strengthen field organizing, build relationships with activists, and promote our actions and events.
  • Manage campaign databases other digital systems; Set up text banks, phone banks, and other outreach tools for organizers.
  • Understand and apply data analytics related to the campaign.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor members with our digital campaign and help relate the work to their campaigns on the ground.
  • Train and collaborate with other staff in the field to generate content and utilize digital tools.
  • Develop communications and narrative strategy in collaboration with the organizing team.
  • Create visual content for digital and in-person communications.
  • Coordinate online trainings, meetings and conferences.
  • Solidify partnerships in the field with workers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years organizing campaign experience, ideally with organizing workers and using digital strategies.
  • Minimum two years’ experience with digital design or related field.
  • Strong writing, research and communication skills.
  • Strong listening and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people as well as an understanding of the daily challenges faced by workers employed in academia.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate obstacles, discern priorities, meet project deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong database management skills that inform analysis of the base and strategy.
  • Familiarity with digital strategies and online to offline organizing.
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have car and be able to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license, and travel as needed on a regular basis.
