The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers’ William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center announces an open position for a Labor Education Information Resources Representative. This is a new position in the Tom Talbot Library at the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center.

The Labor Education Information Resources Representative supports the operations of the Tom Talbot Library public service area and facilitates information and archival services for the Winpisinger Center’s residential and online educational programs.

Duties of Labor Education Information Resources Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating the Tom Talbot Library for the most effective performance of its function in support of the Winpisinger Center and education throughout the IAM, including identifying goals and establishing priorities, policies and procedures.
  • Working with Winpisinger Center staff to develop and administer LMS and online learning tools and resources.
  • Working with Winpisinger Center and other IAM departmental staff to develop and administer the Winpisinger Center’s social media presence.
  • Administering the Winpisinger Center website, including registering and assisting members with the “members only” section of the website and regularly updating and expanding information on the site.
  • Providing information/reference support to participants at the Winpisinger Center, IAM members, and IAM staff
  • Creating and maintaining resources/subject guides to support research and instruction at the Winpisinger Center and throughout the IAM.
  • Working with Winpisinger Center staff to develop and deliver information literacy programs.
  • Developing and administering lending and acquisition policies and procedures, including coordinating acquisition of books, media and reference tools for the Tom Talbot Library and the Winpisinger Center.
  • Coordinating electronic and paper subscriptions for the Winpisinger Center and IAM headquarters.
  • Maintaining the IAM’s database of arbitration decisions.
  • Maintaining and promoting use of the library’s resources and other information in support of the Winpisinger Center’s programs and educational mission.
  • Assisting as directed in projects with other IAMAW Departments in support of the Winpisinger Center’s educational mission.

Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a BA or comparable experience in library science or related applicable field, experience in LMS and adult education, and knowledge of common social media platforms. Familiarity with labor movement or economic/social justice organizations is strongly preferred.

Salary: Set in accordance with IAM Representatives Association contract; starting salary is: $ 88,656.96.
