SEIU Local 509 is a fast-growing, progressive union representing over 23,000 state workers, human service workers, higher education faculty, and family child care providers in Massachusetts. JOB DESCRIPTION
SEIU Local 509 is growing rapidly, and our team is expanding to better serve the needs of union members. We seek a full-time Campaign Data Specialist to manage and maintain campaign data systems that support the union's organizing and strategic campaign efforts. Other duties may be assigned as the department evolves.
EXPECTED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain campaign data across multiple platforms, including CRMs, digital outreach tools and spreadsheet-based systems.
- Participate in organizing efforts and strategic campaign activities.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of campaign data through ongoing data hygiene and quality-control processes.
- Troubleshoot data issues and coordinate with campaign staff to resolve inconsistencies, duplicate records, and missing information.
- Process, import, export, clean, and reconcile data from multiple sources to support campaign goals and reporting needs.
- Create and maintain workflows for collecting, organizing, and distributing campaign data.
- Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and best practices related to campaign data management.
- Respond to requests for information and access relevant files.
- Other duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 2–3 years of experience in campaign data management within a union, political, or related organizing context.
- Experience working with CRMs and member databases (e.g., Action Network, NationBuilder, Hustle, VAN, or comparable tools used in organizing/campaigns).
- Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets), including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation.
- Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations.
- An insured, registered vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required.
- Support for and desire to contribute to the union's mission and principles.
- Willingness to work some nights and weekends, including travel throughout the state and infrequent out-of-state travel.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & LOCATION
This is a full-time bargaining unit position based in Marlborough, MA, with some flexibility for local remote work. The salary range for this position is $80,943.26 – $91,808.59 depending on experience. Benefits include, at no cost to the employee: health insurance with FSA and HRA, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, a pension, an optional 401k, and generous paid time off.
Our main office is located in Marlborough, MA, and the position will require travel around the state.
