About Local 111
The Production Workers Guild, IATSE Local 111 is the first national IATSE Local representing production department professionals working in the commercial production industry. Chartered in September of 2023, Local 111 represents nearly 2,700 Production Assistants, Assistant Production Supervisors, Production Supervisors, Bidding Producers, and Line Producers working under the Production Workers Agreement (PWA).

As our membership continues to grow nationwide, we are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Auditor to help support the financial operations of the Local while ensuring compliance.

This is a full-time, remote position. Qualified candidates located anywhere within the United States are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary
The Bookkeeper / Auditor plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of Local 111. This position is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and assisting with financial administration of the Local while supporting contract compliance through payroll auditing, dues reconciliation, employer reporting, and member support.

Working closely with the Secretary-Treasurer and National Business Director, this position helps ensure Local 111's financial records are accurate, member dues are properly assessed, vendors are paid in a timely manner, and employers meet their obligations under the Production Workers Agreement.

As one of Local 111's early staff members, this is a unique opportunity to help build the financial systems and operational infrastructure of a growing national labor organization. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in an evolving environment, creating efficient processes, and helping shape how Local 111 serves its membership for years to come.

Core Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Administration

  • Process weekly payroll for Local 111 staff.
  • Process accounts payable and vendor payments.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and financial records.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting.

Dues Administration & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile payroll & benefit reports with Local 111 membership records.
  • Monitor Local 111 dues assessments and dues check-off reporting.
  • Identify members with outstanding Local dues balances.
  • Generate and process Local dues invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of member payments and outstanding balances.
  • Assist members with dues, invoices, payment history, and dues check-off questions.

Contract Compliance & Payroll Auditing

  • Audit payroll reports for compliance with the Production Workers Agreement.
  • Review wage rates, job classifications, benefit contributions, and Local dues deductions.
  • Identify discrepancies or potential contract violations.
  • Coordinate findings with the National Business Director for follow-up.

Member & Employer Support

  • Respond to member questions regarding dues, payroll reporting, and financial records.
  • Assist payroll companies and employers with dues reporting and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate employer and payroll records.

Administrative Support

  • Support the Secretary-Treasurer with financial administration and budgeting.
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain organized financial files and records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or financial administration experience.
  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential financial and membership information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working for a labor union, nonprofit, or membership organization.
  • Experience with payroll reconciliation or auditing.
  • Familiarity with membership database systems.
