Eastern Region Member Services Coordinator

The International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600 IATSE is the largest camera and publicist union in the world with over 9,000 members in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. We are a National Local of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE).

Applications are now being accepted for the hourly, non-exempt position of Eastern Region Member Services Coordinator. This is an in-person position based in our Eastern Region Office in New York City.

SALARY:
Staring at $31.51 per hour, depending upon experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Member Services Coordinator (ER) reports to the Administrative Manager for the Eastern Region. The Member Services Department is in charge of maintenance of the union’s membership database, processing member dues payments and new member applications, handling member rerates and reinstatements, coordinating meetings and events, and other related functions. Some evening and weekend work is required.

MEMBER SERVICES (100%):

  • Coordinate the distribution and processing of member paperwork, including member applications, reinstatements, and rerates, ensuring accurate recording and accounting in the eMembership database.
  • Collaborate with the regional Member Services manager to resolve member account issues and collect missing documentation.
  • Respond to member, staff, and applicant inquiries related to members and member services.
  • Process member payments using Direct Biller and eMembership database.
  • Manage payment plans for new membership, reinstatements, and rerates.
  • Track member and non-member union work.
  • Process credential forms for delegates attending IATSE annual conventions.
  • Log information on members’ work and employers into the member database.
  • Coordinate tracking and recording job reports and information on productions (film, TV, commercials, music videos, etc.) that take place within the defined region.
  • Coordinate online and in-person meetings and events.
  • Assist with verification of member status for annual membership meetings.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and schedule member appointments and staff meetings.
  • Generate Availability lists and other member reports as necessary.
  • Serve as backup for collecting member death certificates and beneficiary Form W-9s.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Work, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop or similar
  • Strong communications and collaboration skills (in person, on phone and email)
  • Experience with member services, including problem resolution.
  • Ability to take instruction from more than one person.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritizing appropriately.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college, or at least one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Aid, Administrative Trainee, Clerical Assistance, or Customer Service Representative or Assistant.
  • Previous union experience is a plus.

LICENSE AND PHYSICAL CLASS:

  • A valid Driver’s License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Ability to lift-up to 20 lbs.

CLASSIFICATION:
This is a non-exempt position covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement between ICG Local 600 and OPEIU Local 174. The job falls under the administrative job classification.
