Position Overview
The Strategic Campaign Manager is a senior field leadership role responsible for leading high-impact organizing and representation campaigns across designated geographies, industries, or program areas.
This role manages and develops staff teams, oversees campaign strategy and execution, drives measurable membership growth and political engagement outcomes, and ensures alignment with SEIU Local 2015’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
The Strategic Campaign Manager reports to a Deputy Director or Director and serves as a key member of the regional or industry leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Campaign Leadership
- Design, execute, and evaluate multi-region organizing and representation campaigns.
- Develop strategic field plans with clear milestones, metrics, and accountability structures.
- Lead campaigns that achieve measurable goals in:
- Membership growth
- COPE (political) participation
- Leadership development
- Worker engagement
- Drive industry, regional, and political campaigns that result in tangible worker power outcomes.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate staff across multiple geographies.
- Develop individual work plans and conduct consistent performance evaluations.
- Build high-performing, accountable teams aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of campaign staff.
- Model equity-centered leadership and foster an inclusive, anti-racist work culture.
Budget & Operational Management
- Develop and manage campaign budgets.
- Authorize expenditures and ensure fiscal accountability.
- Oversee administrative processes supporting campaign operations.
Cross Departmental Collaboration
- Partner with organizing, representation, political, and leadership development departments to align strategy.
- Ensure campaign work supports broader organizational growth and legislative goals.
- Maintain accurate data tracking and use data analytics to guide strategic decisions.
Measurable Performance Expectations
Success in this role includes:
- Leading campaigns that meet or exceed membership growth targets.
- Increasing worker engagement participation rates across assigned geography.
- Achieving defined political/COPE benchmarks.
- Developing and promoting emerging worker leaders.
- Maintaining campaign budget compliance.
- Improving team performance metrics year-over-year.
- Maintaining accurate and timely reporting of campaign data.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in organizing, campaign management, community organizing, political campaigns, labor representation, or related field leadership roles.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supervising and developing staff teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-faceted campaigns with measurable outcomes.
- Experience managing projects across multiple locations or program areas.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, digital).
- Ability to analyze and use data to inform campaign strategy.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to work extended and irregular hours, including weekends and travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Union organizing or labor movement experience.
- Experience leading bargaining campaigns or new worker organizing drives.
- Knowledge of labor law and long-term care industry dynamics.
- Experience working in politically complex environments.
- Bilingual skills are strongly valued.

Salary Range:
$113,083.29 – $118,808.13/year
