Senior Accountant

PROTEC17 is seeking an enthusiastic, detail oriented, creative problem solver, who is highly motivated, and possess an ability to use independent judgment and personal initiative to identify problems and recommend solutions. The successful candidate will play an integral role within the finance/accounting section of PROTEC17. They will be responsible for various financial reporting, government reporting technical accounting, controls, general accounting duties, and a variety of human resource duties. They must be experienced in applying principles of accounting to prepare and analyze financial information and supporting documentation, as well as contributing to monthly reporting at the Executive Board level. Candidates will be expected to have skills in these areas or an ability to rapidly become proficient.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for:


  • Perform financial accounting processes and systems, including bank reconciliations, audit preparation, internal control maintenance, regulatory reporting, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Compile and prepare journal entries related to GL accounts.
  • Preform the monthly close process and prepare the applicable reports. Be able to support the monthly reporting package with analytical reviews and management commentaries.
  • Maintain the fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedule as well as various expense ledgers.
  • Perform the Public Discloser Commission recording, reporting, and Treasurer duties necessary for our Political Action Committee (PAC).
  • Perform other tasks and projects as needed under the direction of the Executive Director.


  • Detail oriented, organized, and methodical in approach to tasks.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally respond to requests or questions in both written and oral form.
  • Knowledge, experience, and skill with QuickBooks, Excel, and Word. Orca and UnionWare a plus.
  • Concurrently perform multiple assignments and self-manage your schedule to determine workflow timing and duration.
  • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments.
  • Work both independently and in a team environment.

Bachelors degree (B.A or B.S.) in accounting from an accredited institution and a minimum of four years relevant accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates a solid understanding of accounting and reporting principles (US GAAP).
