National Coalition Organizing Coordinator

Change to Win is seeking a National Coalition Organizing Coordinator in New York City or Washington D.C. to support campaigns that challenge the power and conduct of America’s largest corporations. Change to Win is a dynamic coalition of North America’s most progressive labor unions and a leading force for social, racial and economic justice in our country today.

The National Coalition Organizing (NCO) Coordinator partners with the staff of CtW and its affiliates to execute campaigns that confront corporations and make them take responsibility for business practices that harm workers and consumers in the U.S. and globally.

The NCO Coordinator uses a variety of skills to develop and maintain critical relationships with organizations and individuals including labor organizations, faith-based groups, racial, gender and economic justice organizations, academics, thought leaders and other allies. The NCO Coordinator organizes these constituencies to take action to challenge corporate power. The NCO Coordinator is responsible for designing outreach programs, managing tracking information, drafting of written materials as needed and executing field activities. Excellent verbal skills and organizational skills are a must. The NCO Coordinator travels extensively to meet with allied organizations, thus a driver’s license and the ability to travel is a must.

The NCO Coordinator has a high level of responsibility for developing relationships and executing related campaign activity. The NCO Coordinator must be able to work well both independently and within a team, and will often have responsibilities for coordinating, reviewing and supporting the work of junior staff. The NCO Coordinator may also be required at times to work long and irregular hours, including work on weekends as necessary, as the demand and needs of particular campaigns dictate.

Job Qualifications

  • BA degree or higher
  • 7+ years of experience in coalition-building work in union, political or community organizing campaigns
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Strong commitment to progressive social change
  • Must be a team player
  • Spanish and/or other non-English language skills a plus
  • Supervisory experience a plus

Compensation: $80k-$100k (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits
