Grassroots Campaign Coordinator

Grassroots Campaign Division within the MTA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Division Coordinator. The Division is intended to foster member engagement throughout the 2-year Massachusetts legislative and election cycle. Our ideal candidate will possess administrative and unit support experience. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to be a team player and work independently, and is comfortable multitasking and managing competing priorities, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to all MTA members.

The duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide diversified administrative support to the Division, including staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the Division and other MTA Divisions to ensure the goals of the MTA are carried out though political actions and MTA events.
  • Develop and maintain accurate electronic and physical files and records.
  • Maintain division and utilizes database and ensures that accurate data is collected.
  • Track Senate District Coordinator lobbying activity to assist them in preparation of bi-yearly reports.
  • Train new Senate District Coordinators on protocol and administrative expectations.
  • Attends and program MTA events and trainings.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports for Director.
  • Participates in campaign related activities during MTA-sanctioned events and initiatives.
  • Communicate information to MTA staff and members using a variety of methods.
  • Identifies potential problems and works to solve them. Alerts the appropriate staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • 3- 5 years of recent administrative support.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Direct experience on a political, legislative, or organizing campaign preferred.
  • Advanced training and proficiency in VAN preferred.
  • Ability to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Previous experience using databases for entering information and running reports.
  • Strong MS office skills; demonstrated ability to create and maintain multiple Excel spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and superior organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level of dependability.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be responsive to deadlines.
